Love the Dark Elf Trilogy? Show it off!

Buy the Boxed Set at Amazon!

Okay, now that I’ve finished my reviews of all three of the books in R.A. Salvatore’s The Dark Elf Trilogy, it’s time to put them all together… literally.  If you are anything like I am, you love to show off your favorite books.  A high-quality hardcover sitting on someone’s coffee table can really tell you a lot about a person – an entire library of them can tell you more.  I used to be against buying boxed sets of books because I did not want to take a chance at losing interest – but now that I’m older and more stabilized in life, I realize that boxed sets are a great way to show off my interests to visitors.  The Dark Elf Trilogy is one boxed set that does not fail to please.

R.A. Salvatore’s SOJOURN – Drizzt Meets his Entourage

Paperback

Kindle Edition

Okay, so we’ve already taken a look at HOMELAND and EXILE, the first two books in R.A. Salvatore’s Dark Elf Trilogy, now it’s time to give cadence to the final book of the trilogy – SOJOURN.  Don’t get me wrong, Drizzt’s story continues through many more epic books, but this is the book that rounds off the stage – really sets into motion all of what will be happening in Drizzt’s continued storyline.  Drizzt has to come to terms with who he is, and all of the adversity that comes with being a Dark Elf on a surface world.  The racial theme in this book cannot go unnoticed.

EXILE by R.A. Salvatore – Drizzt Goes Top Side

Kindle Edition

Paperback

Continuing my review of some of my favorite books, The Dark Elf Trilogy, we now take a look at EXILE by R.A. Salvatore.  EXILE is the story of Drizzt Do’Urden making his way out of his home in Menzoberranzan and spending ten years making his trek to the surface world.  EXILE focuses mainly on building the character that is Drizzt Do’Urden – unlike the book before it, HOMELAND, which sought to put an overall beautiful description on the Drow (Dark Elf) race as a whole.

Drizzt deals with the immense grief of losing his father, the renowned weapons master Zaknafien, as he makes his way to the surface.  His only company is his magical onyx panther and loyal friend Guenhwyvar.  The Underdark is a pitch black haven for some of the world’s most foul creatures, and Drizzt must endure miles and miles of it between each rare sanctuary that he discovers. HOMELAND by R.A. Salvatore – an Epic Read

Paperback

This book was the start of an amazing journey for me. It gave me the ability to vividly imagine the life of a drow elf, living far bellow the surface in the insidious city of Menzoberranzan – the City of the Spider Queen. What was once only numbers and dice rolls now became and active storyline within the pages of HOMELAND and the books that followed.

You follow the story of Drizzt Do’Urden, probably the most epic character ever. Not only is the story packed full of brutal, flowing action, but it touches base with some very serious problems of society today. Drizzt’s journal entries were especially emotional and very… realistic, for lack of a better word. Read the rest of this entry

TICK TOCK by Dean Koontz…Edge of the Seat Much?

“Tumbling, hallucinogenic prose. ‘Serious’ writers might do well to study his technique.” – The New York Times Book Review

Actual Book

Kindle Edition

If you’re looking for an edge-of-your-seat thriller, you can always turn to the Dean Koontz section of your local bookstore.  He has always been one of my go-to authors, and unless something changes, he always will be.  That being said, TICK TOCK
by Dean Koontz not only had me at the edge of my seat, but white-knuckle gripping it as well.

I don’t want to ruin too much of it for you, but the story follows Tommy Phan, a young novelist trying to soak up as much of the American dream as possible.  One night while writing he discovers a doll on his doorstep – and the terror begins.  A nightmarish creature wants Tommy’s life and he has no clue why.  The only communication Tommy receives from the doll is “TICK TOCK” displayed ghostly on his computer screen.  With the help of a stunningly beautiful waitress, his loving family, and a little luck, Tommy will try to survive the night.  Every minute of this book ROCKS. Christopher Moore Books to Laugh With

I won’t leave you hopelessly waiting for reviews without anything to do in the meantime when there are so many amazing books to be read.  I haven’t finished Christopher Moore’s FOOL yet, but there will be a complete review posted as soon as I am done.  In the meantime, I strongly urge you to check out Christopher Moore’s Complete Collection of Books.  All of them are extremely entertaining – the author really knows how to use his own style to engage his readers.  Out of all of them, I enjoyed LAMB the most.  It is an excellent satire that nearly anyone can enjoy… just don’t let your overly religious grandmother catch you reading it!

You can get FOOL and LAMB both at an amazingly low price from Amazon and have it shipped directly to your door, or you can check your local book dealers.  Either way, enjoy your read!

Either one you choose, you’ll be absolutely satisfied!
